Catch and Release: Saving your history 1900- 2014

9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Saturday
April 12, May 10, June 14 (other dates by appointment)
Bill Library

In an ongoing effort to capture our current and recently past history, the Ledyard Historical Society’s Archive committee invites you to bring your photos, old letters, documents, and other items in to be scanned and returned to you.

In return, we will provide you with a free digital copy on your flash drive or disc. Images will be added to the Janice W. Bell Historical Research Room at Bill Library to document life in Gales Ferry and Ledyard for future generations.

We are looking for depictions of everyday life and special events:

  • parades,
  • fairs,
  • farms,
  • buildings,
  • storms,
  • ceremonies,
  • civic groups,
  • sports,
  • class photos,
  • etc.

With your permission, we can add your items to our searchable web gallery, viewable at www.ledyardhistory.org/virtualexhibit/.

Items already digitized are also welcome. For further information, please contact research@ledyardhistory.org or see Andrea Buka,
Rusty Godino, or Louisa Watrous.

Research inquiries are welcome at the same email address or in person at these events.
