2017 Summer Reading  June 26th - Aug. 12th.

Read-to-Me

There will be a Read-to-Me program for children turning 4 this year(born in 2013) through entering 1st grade.  This program will be based on the number of books read to or by the child.  After registering at the library, your child can choose a Read-to-Me coloring sheet.  On the back of the sheet are 10 lines.  For every book you read to them, (or every book they read), please write the title on the back of the sheet.  After all 10 books have been read, and the front of the sheet colored, please return the sheet to the library where you registered.  Your child will then get to choose a prize from a Read-to-Me prize box.  If they have completed 5 reading sheets by August 12th, they will earn a paperback book.

Slogan 3

For kids entering 2nd through 6th grade, our program is based on the number of minutes read, and prizes can be earned for each hour read.  We recommend your child reads for one hour before coming in to register.  After registering at the library beginning June 26th, your child will be given a reading log and a file in the computer will be opened with a user name and password.  The instructions of how to enter minutes will be in your reading log.  For each hour read, your child will get a “Book Buck” which they can save up for a larger prize, or spend in our library store.  They can continue to record their minutes read online until August 12th.  Our store will close at 12:30 pm on August 12th.
